Say Good Bye to Crows Feet with Latisse from Bella Medspa
April 28, 2011 on 12:00 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsHave you ever wished for eyelashes like butterfly wings? No. Well then how about thicker, fuller lashes? Me too. And, I did something about it. I tried Bella Medspa Latisse. You wouldn’t believe the results. Hardly a day passes that I don’t receive a compliment on my “beautiful eyes”. If they only knew! My eyes are the same as they’ve always been. But now, my lush lashes give them renewed prominence.
Now, if I’ve peaked your curiosity then I should also let you know of a possible side effect to Latisse use. Latisse can cause temporary darkening of skin. So, if you’re not meticulous with your application, as I am not, you may begin to notice a brownish line forming just above your lash line. It looks like eyeliner. This is due to an increase in melanin production at that area, prompted by the Latisse. This only happens to a small number of users and is entirely avoidable. Unfortunately, I had to learn my Latisse application lesson the hard way.
The good news is, the discoloration is temporary. It’s already begun to fade. Of course, I had to first clean up my application process. So, for your sake, let’s go over the very simple process of properly applying your Bella Medspa Latisse. First, cleanse your eyes with a water-soluble cleanser that does not leave residue and be sure your eyelids are completely dry. Avoid the use of serums, gels, and moisturizers until after your Latisse application has thoroughly dried. Otherwise you run the risk of spreading the Latisse and it’s discoloring affects.
Finally, and most important, only use the enclosed application brushes. They are specifically manufactured for precise application. Apply directly, and only, to the base of the upper lashes. Some will naturally transfer to your lower lashes. This is totally normal. However, any transfer beyond the lower lash line needs to absorbed with a tissue.
Follow these simple instructions and you’ll only ever be fully delighted with your Latisse use.

Get ready for summer with Botox Injections from Bella Medspa
April 25, 2011 on 9:16 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsBella Medspa Botox is the talk of the town for very good reason – the results, the ease, the affordability, the administering staff, etc., etc., etc. Simply put, Bella Medspa Botox seems nearly too good to be true. Refined smoker’s lines! Softened crows feet! Alluring smiles and lifted frowns! All this in a matter of minutes and no downtime required. This really does sound too good to be true.
Fortunately, Bella Medspa Botox is as fabulous as it sounds. Still, for you to appreciate it you should know a little about it. Take a moment to read this newsletter in its entirety. By the close of the final paragraph, you’ll know a good deal about this impressive product. If you weren’t a believer in the transformative powers of Botox before, you will be in a few minutes.
First things first, Botox is short for ‘botulinum toxin’. It works to paralyze wrinkle-forming muscles, meaning it works exclusively on dynamic wrinkles. These muscles are the ones used to form our most common facial expressions.
Botox is safe, effective, and only minimally painful. In fact, repeat patients find the needle pricks to be nearly imperceptible. Nonetheless, if even the mention of needle pricks causes you anxiety ice your forehead 10 minutes before the procedure. Ice will also help to ward off swelling and bruising.
If the thought of bruising concerns you, be sure to avoid aspirin, Motrin, Advil, and any other ibuprofen-containing products for one week prior to your Bella Medspa Botox injection. In fact, as an added precaution consider taking arnica on the day before and the day of injection.
Minor bruising is the most common side effect of Botox injections. However, you can also experience what is called eyelid ptosis. When Botox is injected too low it can cause one eyelid to droop. This happens as a result of poor injection technique and can take up to three weeks to resolve itself. Good injection technique really is the key to accomplishing the best possible final product. Rest assured, there are no long-term side effects.
Your results will appear within the first few days following injection. Over the course of the next two weeks, the full affect will become perfectly visible.

Bella Medspa Sclerotherapy on the Rise!
April 14, 2011 on 12:39 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsIn 2008, The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reported that 375,328 sclerotherapy procedures were performed in the US alone. Each year this number goes up. Do you know what that means? It means, you’re in good company. Countless men and women battle the frustration of unsightly and uncomfortable veins. Fortunately, the solution is well proven and readily accessible.
Bella Medspa Sclerotherapy has a long past, well grounded in medical history. A rudimentary form of the practice was used in the 1600’s, when acid was injected into veins to induce blood clot formation. By 1853 varicose veins were being successfully treated with iron salt injections. In 1854, 16 cases of varicose veins were reportedly cured by injecting iodine and tannin directly into the veins. Throughout the years, carbolic acid, mercury salt, sodium carbonate, sodium salicylate, sodium salicylate and quinine have been tried.
The 1900’s brought marked advancements to sclerotherapy with the development of sodium tetradecyl sulfate, which continues to be used today. By the mid 1960’s, sclerotherapy had become well accepted among the medical communities of mainland Europe, but continued to be pooh-poohed in England and the United States until more recently. Today, the reports show that men and women across our nation are entrusting their veined faces, legs, hands, feet, chests, and arms to the well established science of sclerotherapy. And, for good reason.
Besides being a well practice, with an extensive history, Bella Medsoa Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive, in-office procedure requiring less than one hour to perform and very minimal downtime. In fact, post procedure walking is encouraged in order to encourage circulation and healing. After cleaning the area(s), larger veins will be injected prior to smaller ones using an extremely finely tipped needle. One injection is typically administered for every inch of problematic vein. A slight stinging or burning sensation commonly accompanies the release of liquid into the vein but then quickly dissipates. At close, the necessary bandages and compression garments are applied depending on the area(s) treated. Normal activities may be resumed immediately, though strenuous exercise should be avoided for a few days. Secondary treatments, if needed, can be scheduled four to six weeks following the primary treatment, after the original results are fully realized.

Clean & Healthy Skin with Microdermabrasion from Bella Medspa
April 12, 2011 on 12:27 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsYour favorite skincare source, Bella Medspa is continuing an age-old beauty tradition- microdermabrasion. This coveted beauty secret of the rich and famous actually dates back to the Ancient Egyptians; specifically to the unequivocally beautiful Cleopatra. Today, mainstream men and women can also relish the profound benefits of this tried and true practice.
This exfoliating process provides several benefits. During the subsequent healing process, new skin cells are brought to the surface creating a smoother look and feel. In addition, some of the skin’s visible imperfections, like sun damage, blemishes and fine lines, are removed. Also, without the outermost layer of skin acting as a barrier, medicinal creams and lotions are far more effective because their active ingredients and moisturizing components can more readily find their way down to the lower layers of skin.
At Bella Medpsa microdermabrasion is performed using a diamond tipped wand to buff away the surface layer of skin, also known as the epidermis. The epidermis is a set of dead skin cells on top of another layer of cells that are in the process of maturing. During microdermabrasion, the surface layer of skin is exfoliated away revealing younger, healthier skin cells below. Results are instantaneous and continue to improve over the course of time.
Benefits Include:
* Fresher skin with enhanced elasticity and refined texture
* New collagen and elastin production
* Fine line and wrinkle reduction
* Superficial acne scar reduction
* Brown spot reduction
* Blotchy skin minimization
* Whitehead and blackhead elimination
During your Bella Medspa microdermabrasion treatment, the diamond tipped wand will be used to gently exfoliate superficial skin layers. A vacuuming component acts simultaneously to suck away dead skin and debris from the skin’s surface. Rest assured, the DiamondTome is non-invasive, pain-free and requires no down time after treatment.
Although results are gradual and multiple treatments are recommended for treatment of sun damage, fine lines, shallow acne scarring and dry patches, you will notice obvious improvement after just one treatment. For long lasting significant results, we typically recommend a series of 5 to 8 30-minute treatments, spread 10 to 30 days apart.
Bella Medspa currently offers microdermabrasion at our four full service locations; Lancaster PA, Center City Philadelphia, Newtown – Bucks County and Chester Springs and at most of our seven Spa Affiliate Locations. Please call for details.
