Reside in Philadelphia or the surrounding areas and considering some facial refreshing? Research Juvederm Philadelphia and find information on a non-invasive filler called Juvederm. Approved by the Food and Drug Administration, the product is currently the number one facial line filler in the United States. Why?

Its Natural

Juvederm is made of hyaluronic acid, or HA. HA aides in skin hydration and restores volume to underlying tissue. The human body produces its own supply of HA. Because of this component, allergic reactions are minimal. Doctors are not required to perform skin tests before an injection is administered.

Its Quick

Unlike cosmetic procedures requiring an extensive time commitment, Juvederm treatments are completed in a matter of minutes. After the consultation, a licensed physician administers the injections in 15 to 20 minutes. Injections require no anesthesia, but a localized numbing agent may be applied, if desired.

No Down Time

Juvederm patients enjoy instant results with little to no recovery times. Resume normal activities immediately after receiving injections. Avoid strenuous activity and exposure to heat and sun for a period determined by the physician. Results last six months to a year.

Its Versatile

Patients express how smoothly Juvederm fills out lines and wrinkles. Injection sites do not have a grainy or uneven texture. People of color have successfully been treated with no increased risk of hyper pigmentation or scarring.

On average, fillers cost between $300 to $575 per vial. Major facial lines require the use of half a vial. Consult with multiple physicians to compare services. Search Juvederm Philadelphia for recommendations.

There are many women who have been searching for the product that will provide them with thicker, curlier and more beautiful eyelashes overall. There is such a saturation of choice present in the cosmetics market, and this makes it extraordinarily difficult for most people to decipher which products will work for them. One of the few renowned treatment options available to women that actually does the job right is known as Latisse Philadelphia.

Latisse Philadelphia not only makes a woman’s eyelashes fuller and more noticeable, but its usage also offers a great selection of benefits. This makes it uniquely different when compared to other leading brands in the industry, as it is no secret that other high end products can actually contribute to the eventual drying out of the lashes while also damaging skin. Latisse Philadelphia does will never pose side effects like these on the person using it, whether it is either on a short-term or long-term basis.

One of the advantages of applying Latisse to the lashes is that it actually has the potential to influence the hair’s growth cycles. With the consistent application of this product to the lashes, this suggested impact on the eyelashes will become evident in two different ways. First of all, the persistent use of this product will lend to the augmentation of the lash growth phase. As a result of this time increase for the regeneration of the hair follicles, there will also be a higher number of lashes that develop in that period. This will lead to a more bold and beautiful appearance encircling the eyes while also highlighting the overall beauty of a woman’s face.

Reveal your true look! Microdermabrasion from Bella Medspa

May 23, 2011 on 9:46 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

For thousands of years, in countless countries, and among varied people microdermabrasion treatments have delivered refined, vibrant complexions.
Today, research shows microdermabrasion still increasing in popularity. Men and women alike depend on regular microdermabrasion sessions to maintain a supple skin surface. This well loved practice falls just behind laser hair removal and Botox injections in nonsurgical cosmetic procedure popularity.
Despite its fame, Philadelphia skincare specialist, Bella Medspa, notes that most first time microdermabrasion patients know very little about the actual process. In fact, there are seven fairly routine questions most new patients ask:
How does a Bella Medspa microdermabrasion treatment work? Using a natural diamond tipped hand wand dead skin cells are exfoliated and vacuumed away from the skin’s surface. The wand delivers the abrasion and the sucking simultaneously. Both elements are calibrated according to your individual needs. The abrasion and sucking serve to unclog pores, refine the skin’s surface, and encourage further collagen production.
What areas can be treated? Microdermabrasion can treat the face, neck, chest, shoulders, back and hands.
What results can I expect? Age spots and fine lines are reduced, pores are unclogged, acne is diminished, collagen is stimulated and a more uniform tone becomes evident. Immediately after your first treatment, you will notice softer, tighter, smoother, younger-looking skin.
How soon will I see results? An improvement of texture and coloration will be evident immediately. Fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and scarring will show incremental improvement with each treatment.
How long does the procedure take? A single facial treatment takes less than 30 minutes. However, larger surfaces (i.e. back or chest) require more time and generally depend on the body size of the patient. For optimal results, treatments are administered in a series, scheduled 2 weeks apart.
Is it painful? Bella Medspa’s use of the diamond tipped wand ensures a very gentle treatment. Throughout the treatment session, the strength of the vacuum and the abrasion of the wand are calibrated to your skin’s specifications. The skin will feel taught as the tip is pressed against it, with a dull sucking sensation.
Can microdermabrasion be combined with other treatments? Yes. In fact, Bella Medspa recommends alternating between chemical peels and microdermabrasion treatments for more dramatic results.

The Side Effects of Laser Hair Removal

May 13, 2011 on 11:55 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

Laser hair removal was first commercially introduced in the mid-1990s. Since then, vast improvements have developed in the quality of treatments available. Bella Medspa combines safe, effective treatments with experienced technicians. While this type of hair removal treatment is reliable, there is always a potential for side effects.

Most burns can be prevented when the appropriate lasers and settings are used for an individual’s skin type. If a burn does occur, the settings will have to be adjusted for future treatments. Although the idea of being burned during a treatment may be initially upsetting, the side effects are typically minimal. Skin irritation, which can include redness or blistering of the skin, may appear temporarily, providing mild discomfort. Avoiding hot showers and excess sun exposure while the skin heals will prevent additional irritation. The affected area should never be scratched. Scarring, though possible, is uncommon.

Another potential side effect of laser hair removal is a change in the pigment of the skin. Skin may lighten or darken directly after treatment, but generally returns to normal after a few weeks. In rare instances, the skin may take months to resolve its color.

To further discuss the risks, side effects, and benefits of laser hair removal, schedule an appointment for a free consultation at a local Bella Medspa.

Smooth out fine lines and wrinkles with Radiesse from Bella Medspa

May 12, 2011 on 11:05 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

At first glance, Radiesse, Juvederm, and Restylane may seem like substitutable wrinkle fillers. For instance, at Bella Medspa we use all three to “fill lines and wrinkles”. But, depending on the age, desired outcome, and lifestyle of the client we may elect to use one over the other. There are distinct elements to each of the products. Read on to discover what these elements are and how they may influence your decision of one (or two) over another.

Restylane, an FDA approved dermal filler, was one of the first Hyaluronic Acid fillers. The clear gel is made of crosslinked Hyaluronic Acid and can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. Hyaluronic Acids are naturally found in the skin and normally breakdown quickly, leading to wrinkles and creases. Thanks to the crosslinking of the Hyaluronic Acids in Restylane, an injection typically lasts about 6 months. However, the area treated and the patient’s individual skin characteristics can influence the duration of the product. It can be used just about anywhere including the lips. Also, should you regret your Restylane injection, it can be removed in a matter of hours with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Each syringe contains 0.8cc of product and costs between $500 and $600.

Juvederm is a second-generation Hyaluronic Acid filler, with the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any dermal filler. This results in a longer life and smoother texture than Restylane, lessening the likelihood of lumps and bumps post injection. Juvederm is available in two formulations: Juvederm Ultra for contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds and Juvederm Ultra Plus for correcting deeper folds and wrinkles. Each syringe contains 0.8cc of product and is priced between $500 and $600.

Unlike Restylane and Juvederm, Radiesse is made of Calcium Hydroxylapatite. This too is naturally found in your body and largely contributes to collagen production. That means that not only does Radiesse temporarily increase volume but it also stimulates your tissue to naturally produce more collagen. Radiesse is good for deeper lines and facial contouring. However, it is not appropriate for lips or fine lines. Radiesse normally lasts about one year and may require a small touch up around 3-6 months. Again, the area treated and the patient’s skin characteristics influence the duration of the product. On rare occasions, patients have reported prolonged redness over the injection site. Per unit Radiesse is about the same price as Juvederm and Restylane for a 0.8cc syringe but it also comes in a larger 1.5cc volume (almost 90% more product for only about 40% cost). The cost is typically between $500 and $800 per syringe.

Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse require no allergy testing prior to treatment and will be naturally broken down by the body.

Treat Your Spider Veins before the Beach Weather Arrives!

May 9, 2011 on 10:39 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

Bella Medspa Sclerotherapy is the process used to deal with blood vessel abnormalities such as spider veins and varicose veins. As with any medical procedure, sclerotherapy results are not 100% guaranteed. There is always the chance that the treated varicose vein does not disappear. That said Bella Medspa Sclerotherapy typically has very good results. Our injecting nurses and doctors are highly experienced, having performed sclerotherapy treatments many times on a variety of patients coming from diverse health and lifestyle backgrounds. This quality alone significantly improves the efficacy of your sclerotherapy treatment.

However, it is still possible that several treatments will be required to eliminate the vein’s appearance to your satisfaction. Even after everything is said and done to improve the efficacy of your procedure, ten percent of sclerotherapy patients will have poor results.

The good news is, you can effectively contribute to the success of your vein treatment by implementing the following guidelines. Before your Bella Medspa sclerotherapy treatment, inform us if you are taking birth control pills or estrogen. This may influence how and when we treat you. We also recommend that you do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for seven days prior to your treatment. These pills possess an anticoagulant quality that can profoundly affect your treatment process and overall efficacy.

Refrain from alcoholic beverages and cigarettes 2 days prior and 2 following your treatment. Like anticoagulants, alcohol and cigarettes can impair your healing process.

Just prior to your visit, shower and thoroughly wash with an antibacterial soap any areas you intend for treatment. Refrain from using any creams or lotions.

Immediately following your procedure, walk for 10 to 30 minutes. This will promote circulation and kick-start your healing process. Also, arrange for someone to drive you from your appointment if your drive is longer than 20 minutes. You need to be able to move your feet and legs during this crucial period post treatment.

Your normal activities and a regularly scheduled one-hour daily walk will significantly enhance your results. In fact, if you have the time and energy walk more often and for a longer period of time. But, please refrain from overly strenuous exercises and weightlifting.

For at least two weeks, hot baths, hot tubs, and long hot showers should be avoided. As a matter of fact, we recommend that you cool your legs with cold water after each shower. This added precaution will benefit the investment of your vein treatment.

Regardless of how bothersome they can become, please wear any support garments recommended at the time of your visit. After healing, it is a good idea to continue wearing them for long trips and when you are especially sedentary.

Together, we will make your Bella Medspa Sclerotherapy treatment a success!
