The countless rebates and special prices currently offered with purchases of Latisse, Botox and Juverderm are downright confusing.
I’m going to try and clear some of that up in this Blog post.

Bella Medspa Moves Into New Newtown Bucks County Office

On January 1st 2010 we  moved down the hall. It is a larger space with three treatment rooms. The additional space and rooms will allow us to serve the increasing demand for services.

Over the past four years Bella Medspa has continued to grow despite the poor economic environment. “I think our growth rate has something to do with our low pressure, customer first, style of service” said Beth DiBella, Owner and Director of Bella Medspa.

Bella Medspa initially started with laser hair removal and has gradually added a full line of Medspa Services in Newtwon, PA.

Botox vs Dysport

BOTOX and Dysport are both Botulinum Toxin A but are made by different companies. BOTOX has been available for longer, but Dysport is now FDA approved and has been found to be as effective and safe as BOTOX. 

Dysport received FDA approval in late April 2009 and is now being offered at many Medspas. It’s no surprise that it’s catching on since BOTOX has been such a blockbuster. With competition the prices for both will hopefully go down.

Clients ask us why the price per unit for Dysport is so much lower than BOTOX. This is because, on average, three times as much Dysport is needed to achieve the same results. But even taking the 3 to 1 ratio into account Dysport is still a little less expensive.

Dysport claims that it works more quickly and Medicis has data to show it begins working in some patients at day 1, compared to 2 to 14 days for BOTOX.

Dysport seems to work better in the forehead with quicker onset and less units used.  This May be because the product has a higher propensity for diffusion (spreading). And Dysport has a slightly longer duration when dosed at a 3:1 (3 Dysport units for every 1 BOTOX unit).

As Dysport is used more widely other differences may emerge. But in any case competition is always good for consumers.

BOTOX Cost Philadelphia | Lancaster | Bucks County | Chester Springs | Harrisburg

This post is about how fees for BOTOX injections are traditionally charged and about how we might improve on that traditional method.

All the Medspas that I’m aware of quote a price per unit fee. They will charge you by the amount of BOTOX that is used in the treatment. it sounds fair enough I suppose.

The only problem is that the client is not really buying BOTOX, they are buying the BOTOX treatment. A treatment that requires skill and knowledge to perform well. To charge by the unit makes it appear that they are buying a retail item instead of the service that they are receiving.

Case in point, no one prices Laser Hair Removal by the pulse. And the skill and knowledge required for BOTOX and (especially) Dermal Filler treatments well is much greater. BOTOX treatments are a service, so why do we charge by the unit?

The answer is that everyone else does.

The funny thing is that the price per unit still doesn’t tell you how much the treatment as a whole will cost. And it definitely doesn’t tell you anything about the quality of the treatment you will receive. Ask anyone who has had treatments with more than one practitioner, there is definitely a difference.

That’s why we made sure we were working with the right practitioner before we offered cosmetic injectables. Bethann has trained with some of the best plastic surgeons in the Philadelphia area. You can tell she knows what she is doing as soon as she starts.

Recently a new client who was traveling and needed someone local for a touch up injection came to us. She usually gets her BOTOX treatments in New York and Los Angeles. She told us that Bethann’s treatment was the best she has ever had. No Lie!

So, with all that said, right now we charge $12 per unit, but with our $100 off first treatment special the effective cost per unit becomes $8 or $9 per unit depending on how much is used. And your total fee for treatment will depend on the area to be treated and extent of treatment needed. Soon we may not even quote a per unit price but just stick with the average fees per treatment area posted on our website as guidance to BOTOX cost.

Things have changed a lot for us over the past three years. What was once a company that provided laser hair removal at a few spa affiliate locations in the Philadelphia area is now a full service Med Spa with three of our own full service locations and 9 spa affiliates. With so many locations we probably do more laser hair removal than anyone in the area.

We have also grown in terms of our services as well. BOTOX Philadelphia Before and After

Recently we shot a short web cam video featuring our BOTOX and Dermal Fillers cosmetic injectables Nurse Bethann Mallon. In the video she explains how she achieved notable results after injecting my sister, Lisa, with BOTOX, Juvederm and Restylane.

In the video Lisa, who will turn 50 this year, also discusses the results and the reactions she has gotten from friends regarding her new appearance. Lisa had never received BOTOX or Dermal fillers before this and she is very happy with her results.

The video will be finished in a week or so but I wanted to post this before and after picture to show the contrast that Bethann can accomplish with Cosmetic injectables. Restylane and Juvederm Dermal Fillers
