Laser Hair Removal for Men in Philadelphia
If your wife or girlfriend has begun (or finished) a series of laser hair removal treatments, you may have begun considering the procedure for yourself.“But do men actually get this treatment?” is the question we invariably hear from our male clients. And the answer is…….YES!
Hundreds of thousands of men across the US are turning to Laser Hair Removal to reduce or remove hair on their bodies. These men wish to thin out or completely remove what they feel is excessive hair on the chest, abdomen, arms, hands, legs, back, neck, hairline, buttocks and pubic area.
In addition, men in ever-increasing numbers are using laser hair removal for the face. Seeking to put an end to razor burn, in-grown hairs or just the daily shave, these men find that within a few treatments their facial hair is much more manageable.
In fact, at Bella Medspa most of our male clients have never ever done any waxing or hair removal other than shaving. Perhaps that is because waxing requires a long term commitment (years) and provides only a short term solution (a few weeks without hair).
Laser hair removal, in fact, is the exact opposite. Laser hair removal requires a short term commitment (a few months) and provides a long term solution (years).
Laser hair removal:
Short term commitment, Long term solution
Waxing:
Long term commitment, Short term solution
So, yes, whether it’s for your face or your body, Bella Medspa laser hair removal is a man’s choice.Laser Hair Removal to Thin-Out Hair
The specialized laser beam passes through the skin and is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. This energy is intense enough to disable the hair follicles in the Anagen growth phase. About 15 to 20% of the hair follicles are in this phase at any one time. This means that clinically we should see approximately 15 to 20% of the hair follicles in the treatment area permanently removed with each treatment. And, in fact, we do. For more on how the procedure works, see our Learn page. While almost all men with dark hair are good candidates for this procedure, the laser is most effective in treating hark hair on light to moderately pigmented skin.Number of Laser Hair Removal Treatments Needed
While there may be some slight “spottiness” this 15 to 20% removal is fairly even and uniform throughout the treatment area. This is particularly important for men because so many of them do not want to completely remove the hair on their bodies but they do want to thin it out, or simply have a little less of it. This means that with each treatment, you will notice less and less hair.So if you’re saying any of the following:
“My hair cut would last longer if I didn’t have this hair growing down my neck”
“The hair on my ears makes me look old!”
“Someone commented on how hairy my arms and fingers are. It’s embarrassing.”
“I don’t want to be that dude at the beach with the hairy back.”
“I still want hair on my chest, but I don’t want it to look like a shag rug.”
“The hair on my back is itchy and hot in the summer.”
“The skin on my face is always sore and red after I shave”
“My collar and tie irritate the hairs on my throat.”
“My girlfriend complains that I have too much hair down there.”
