What is LATISSE?

LATISSE is an aesthetic prescription treatment used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. Allergan, who also produces Botox and Juvederm, introduced Latisse to the market in 2009. It has since become a block buster with thousands of women achieving spectacular results.

How does it work?

It affects the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: First, the length of this phase is increased leading to longer lashes. And second, the number of hairs in this growth phase are increased resulting in fuller, darker lashes.

How do I apply it?

Apply once-a-day. You apply it yourself each evening using a specially designed applicator to the base of the upper eyelashes. After full results are obtained the frequency of applications is reduced to maintain desired eye lash quality.

How long does it take for Latisse to kick in?

You may see results starting at 8 weeks with full results at 12 to 16 weeks. Growth is gradual overnight, over time.

Is it a Replacement for Mascara?

No, LATISSE does not work as a replacement of mascara. It is a solution treatment for inadequate or not enough lashes and requires a prescription from a doctor. However, mascara can be used on your eyelashes in addition to LATISSE.

Is LATISSE different from nonprescription products for Eyelash Growth?

YES! It is the first and only prescription treatment approved by the FDA for inadequate or not having enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker.

Is Latisse only available by prescription?

Yes, you will need a prescription to order Latisse

What if I forget to apply one night? Or a few?

Don’t worry. If you miss an application (or a few) don’t try to catch up. Just apply the it the next evening and stay on schedule.

What if I stop using LATISSE?

If you stop using the product, your eyelashes will return to their previous appearance over several weeks to several months. You may continue with applications again anytime you wish.

What are the possible side effects?

The most common side effects after use is an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness. This was reported in approximately 4% of patients. It may cause other less common side effects which typically occur on the skin close to where it is applied, or in the eyes. These include skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness of the eyes, and redness of the eyelids.
